Bangkok: Fans of the renowned 80s band Nok Lae are in mourning following the peaceful passing of Num Nok Lae, a beloved keyboardist and singer from the group.

According to Thai News Agency, Num Nok Lae, whose real name was Prachya Panjapanya, died in Los Angeles at the age of 53. He had been residing in the United States, working as a pharmacist, and was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing.

The news was first reported by the Facebook page "Chiang Mai Community Traffic Radio," which expressed deep condolences to the fans and family of the artist. Num Nok Lae was fondly remembered as a favorite among young people during the GMM Grammy era, leaving a significant impact with his unique voice and musical talent. His passing has prompted an outpouring of grief, particularly among fans in Chiang Mai and those who cherished the music of the 80s and 90s.

Ms. Nattharitai Taweeritikul, also known as Jeab, the coordinator for Nok Lae, confirmed that Num passed away due to a pre-existing medical condition. While his family plans to conduct a funeral in the United States, his former bandmates are considering organizing a merit-making ceremony in Thailand to honor his memory.
