1.5 Million Thais Register for Advance Voting in 16 Days, Election Commission Reports

Bangkok: The Election Commission of Thailand (EC) announced that in a span of 16 days, 1,531,729 individuals have registered for advance voting.

According to Thai News Agency, the registration period, which spanned from December 20, 2025, to January 5, 2026, saw a detailed breakdown of voters. Among the registered individuals, 5,063 voters are set to cast their ballots within their electoral districts. A significant number of 1,420,850 voters have opted to vote outside their electoral districts, while 105,816 voters will be voting from outside the Kingdom.

The EC also reported on the registration for the upcoming referendum. In just two days, from January 3-4, 2026, a total of 620,476 individuals have signed up to participate. This includes 574,719 voters who registered to vote outside their registered districts and 45,757 who registered to vote from abroad. The registration also covers polling stations designated for people with disabilities, impairments, or the elderly.
