Bangkok: On the first day of the public paying their respects to the royal remains of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother, 8,370 people visited the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall.
According to Thai News Agency, the Bureau of the Royal Household has granted royal permission for this homage to occur daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., starting Sunday, November 9, 2025. This follows the completion of the 15-day merit-making ceremony. The sessions for paying respects are organized four times daily.
Bangkok has facilitated the process by opening a waiting area from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., which can accommodate up to 9,000 people. The facilities include drinking water, restrooms, and security personnel available around the clock to manage traffic, offer emergency medical services, and ensure safety. The city has provided these amenities to support the large number of mourners expected to visit during this period.
Visitors are requested to cooperate by dressing respectfully in black and white tones, with a specific emphasis on wearing collared shirts and avoiding sleeveless clothing and denim skirts or jeans. A borrowing and returning service point is available for those who may not be fully attired according to the guidelines.
