A 22-wheel trailer truck drove down a bridge on the expressway, the brakes failed, and crashed into 16 cars, pickup trucks, gas trucks, and trailers.

The moment a rear camera of a car recorded the footage. At first, cars slowed down in line on the Kanchanaphisek Expressway, when coming down from the bridge over the Chao Phraya River. But not long after, a 22-wheel trailer truck carrying a container appeared to be swerving left down from the bridge over the river at high speed. Then the car appeared to be unable to brake in time and crashed into the back of several cars parked in line. The cars that were hit were thrown and hit the cars in front of them one after another. Until the trailer truck hit the back of the trailer parked in front, causing the car with broken brakes to lose control and swerve across the road to another lane. Cars were scattered all over the expressway. Even though the car that hit it was able to stop at a slow speed, it still continued to roll a little bit.

In this incident, many dr
ivers who were hit recounted the thrilling moment that before the incident, they had driven up the bridge and arrived here. There was no traffic at all. When they arrived at the scene of the accident, the cars slowly moved along as usual. After a while, they heard the sound of brakes coming from behind. Then the cars rolled and hit each other.

After the incident, the Samut Prakan Emergency Medical Services Command Center, or the Prakan Rescue Center, quickly coordinated with ambulances and Ruamkatanyu volunteers to help the injured and send them to several nearby hospitals, as there were as many as 17 injured people, including the driver of the trailer whose brakes failed.

Officers had to block the road to clear the injured and damaged vehicles. It took more than 1 hour to get traffic back. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by all injured people, especially the driver of the trailer truck, in order to press charges and take legal action.
