Chonburi, Ordered to investigate a clip of a gang of men claiming to be police, cutting off a car and extorting 700,000 baht from a Chinese tourist in Pattaya. The dashboard camera of the Chinese tourist bus recorded the moment when a white Toyota Fortuner pulled up alongside and cut off the bus. At the same time, another black Ford Everest pulled up alongside and the passengers in both cars rolled down their windows and used batons to signal for them to stop and move into the left lane. Then, at least four men got out of the bus and surrounded the Chinese tourist's car, asking for their visas and passports, and taking photos of the passengers inside. The bus driver said that the Chinese people were staying in Pattaya. However, when the men asked for their driver's licenses, they asked everyone to get out of the bus before the clip cut off. The group of men claiming to be 'police' demanded 700,000 baht from the Chinese tourist, approximately 200 meters past the Pattaya 105 toll booth. At 19:29 on July 10, the tour company received information from the customer, so they posted the story on social media because they wanted to know if it was a real police officer or not. The reporter asked Pol. Col. Tawi Kutthaeng, Superintendent of Nongprue Police Station, who confirmed that no victims had come to file a complaint. As for the tourist driver, he has not given any information. Source: Thai News Agency
