Chumphon: Abhisit Vejjajiva visited Chumphon, where he was warmly welcomed by a large crowd of fans in Tha Sae district. He revealed that "Mother Earth" (or "Goddess of the Earth") blessed him with the victory, noting that the rain stopped immediately.

According to Thai News Agency, the atmosphere during Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party and prime ministerial candidate, and his entourage's visit to Chumphon province was lively, especially at Tha Sae market, where a massive crowd of people waited to welcome them, shouting "We miss Prime Minister Abhisit" loudly along the route.

Mr. Abhisit greeted the people of Tha Sae from a loudspeaker truck, recounting a miraculous event that occurred immediately upon his arrival. He stated that although there had been heavy and continuous rain in the area, the rain stopped instantly upon landing in Chumphon. Mr. Abhisit, in a good mood, remarked, "Why did it rain like that? I explained to them that before I arrived, Mother Earth brought water to chase away the gray spirits, and the rain would stop. And it really did stop, brothers and sisters!"

The speech generated great excitement and smiles among the villagers who had gathered to listen. During his meeting with the public, Mr. Abhisit reiterated the reasons why the Democrat Party needed to return to serving the people, highlighting the hardships faced by people in the South and across Thailand due to economic problems and a political system focused on self-interest and corruption. He affirmed that the party was ready to revitalize the economy and restore integrity to Thai politics.

"Thank you for the flowers, thank you for the garlands, thank you to everyone who said they missed me, thank you to everyone who hugged me. The people of Chumphon give really strong hugs... Brothers and sisters, today the Democrat Party has returned because we know that you here and all Thai people are suffering. Suffering from the political climate in Thailand over the past period, which has been dominated by self-interest, corruption, and has exacerbated the economic problems and hardship faced by our people," said Mr. Abhisit.
