Bangkok: AIS, in collaboration with the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), tested a nationwide cell broadcast disaster warning system, reinforcing its readiness and comprehensive network coverage across Thailand to serve Thais in all situations.

A recent test of the emergency warning system via mobile phone signals covered 76 provinces and Bangkok, assessing its readiness and efficiency. The test results demonstrated that citizens received notification messages on time at 2:00 PM on both Android and iOS smartphones, indicating the successful achievement of the target. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Arsit Sampanrat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, alongside Mr. Theerapat Khachamat, Director-General of the DDPM, and Mr. Wasit Wattanasap, Head of National Operations and Technical Support Business Unit, AIS.
AIS stated that amidst ongoing emergencies, including PM2.5 pollution, flooding, and serious accidents, it has collaborated with the government to enhance the capabilities of its network to support the Thai people. This reinforces AIS's readiness to support the mission of delivering crucial information quickly and comprehensively to high-risk areas nationwide.
This notification is dispatched via Cell Broadcast Entities (CBEs) commanded by the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), which is responsible for issuing disaster warnings in various situations. AIS's intelligent network supports the message delivery, ensuring comprehensive coverage across Thailand, regardless of distance or location. To maintain readiness for receiving notifications, the public is advised to check and update their operating systems to meet the testing requirements: Android 11 or higher, or iOS 18 or higher.
