Bangkok: Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul dismissed concerns regarding his phone usage during parliamentary sessions, following reports that his chat messages were being monitored. He assured that there was nothing significant about the matter and humorously remarked that his team was merely sending information to former President Trump.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin was questioned by reporters about the need for caution while using his phone during parliamentary sessions. He laughed off the suggestion, stating that his team had conveyed information indicating that President Trump wanted to discuss potential resolutions for the Thai-Cambodian conflict.
During his address in the House of Representatives, Anutin clarified the situation regarding the media’s coverage of his chat conversations and whether he needed to exercise more caution. He mentioned receiving information earlier in the day that contradicted any claims of contact or information from the United States. When shown a clip allegedly involving “President Trump,” Anutin acknowledged its authenticity, noting the significance of the public holiday as the parliament convened to consider constitutional amendments, with civil servants off work.
Following the interview, Anutin left the Parliament building briefly, mentioning he had a dental appointment, but assured he would return to the parliamentary session later.
