Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, announced during a Cabinet meeting today that he is awaiting the Election Commission's completion of the government formation process. He emphasized that the current Cabinet continues to work at full capacity.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin congratulated ministers who gained public trust in the recent election through both constituency and party-list systems. Despite unofficial results being available, the Election Commission's certification process is still ongoing.

Anutin, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, which has been tasked with forming the government, stated that he will wait for the Election Commission to officially certify the election results before starting government formation. This step is crucial to ensure the process aligns with legal requirements and reflects the people's will.

During this transition, he stressed that the current Cabinet must fulfill its responsibilities completely until a new Cabinet is inaugurated. He also directed Mr. Paradorn Prisnanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, to expedite budget allocations and public assistance projects delayed during the election period, aiming to alleviate public issues efficiently.

Additionally, Anutin instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence to explore the cancellation of Memorandum of Understanding No. 44, prioritizing national interest.
