Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul chaired a National Security Council meeting on the southern border, focusing on assessing the postponement of talks with the BRN and receiving updates on the Minister of Defence's visit to Malaysia.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin Charnvirakul, who serves as both Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, presided over the meeting at 1:30 PM. The primary agenda was to monitor and evaluate the security dynamics in the southern border provinces.

Security sources indicated that the meeting would include an assessment of the intelligence and security situation in these provinces. This includes evaluating the impact of the postponed talks with the BRN and considering measures to maintain public safety and the effectiveness of security agencies in preventing any escalation of violence.

Additionally, the meeting aimed to acknowledge the results of Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen's discussions during his recent visit to Malaysia. These discussions centered on security cooperation, intelligence exchange, and efforts to push forward the peace process. The meeting also intended to review the progress of the Thai peace dialogue team and establish the framework for upcoming rounds of talks.
