According to Thai News Agency, on July 30, 2026, at the Amnat Charoen Provincial Police Station, Ms. Daeng Kongma, a Senator from Group 10, filed a defamation lawsuit against Mr. Yingcheep Atchanont, Director of the Internet for Public Law Project (iLaw), and related parties. The suit was in response to a Facebook post by Mr. Yingcheep, which allegedly suggested that Ms. Daeng's previous statement of being a pork vendor disqualified her from Senate membership under Group 10. This assertion contradicted the Election Commission's ruling, which confirmed her eligibility.
Ms. Daeng argued that Mr. Yingcheep's claims were unfounded and that he had misrepresented the legal requirements for Group 10, suggesting that it was reserved for owners of large businesses with more than 200 employees. She criticized Mr. Yingcheep for not adhering to the principle that "If there is no law stipulating it, then it is not an offense." Furthermore, she accused him of inciting harassment and creating a hostile environment by encouraging others to monitor her activities, which she claimed endangered her safety and disrupted her work.
Ms. Daeng expressed her frustration over the continued devaluation of her profession as a pork vendor. She highlighted the constitution's aim to provide opportunities for individuals from different backgrounds to serve as senators.
