Anutin Charnvirakul Confident Ahead of Election Despite Keeping Government Composition Under Wraps

Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, is confident in his party's momentum as the election approaches, yet remains secretive about the potential composition of the government. He emphasized the strategic importance of Sisaket Province, dismissing rumors of a power struggle with the Pheu Thai Party despite concurrent rallies in the area.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin, reflecting on his familiarity with Sisaket, highlighted his history of assisting in evacuations during Thai-Cambodian border clashes, aiming to reassure the local populace. Sisaket has long been a target for the Bhumjaithai Party, with Anutin's past roles from Deputy Prime Minister to Prime Minister reinforcing the need for trust among the community. He noted that the current political engagements are unrelated to border issues or other matters.

Regarding the nearby Pheu Thai Party rally, Anutin remarked on the possible coincidence of timing, stressing the few remaining days before the election. He dismissed notions of a power struggle, focusing instead on presenting policies and securing votes. Anutin pointed out that attempts to stir conflict are unfounded, emphasizing Bhumjaithai's commitment to integrity and fair competition.

The arrival of Nattawut Saikua's new campaign rhetoric, introducing "Spicy Cobra Stir-fry" to Sisaket, prompted Anutin to assure residents that they would not need to accept the controversial "BM21 menu." He stated that the people of Sisaket and Thailand deserve better options than those proposed by the opposition.

Anutin further addressed his confidence in winning Sisaket's constituencies, dismissing intimidation from Pheu Thai's ambitions. He asserted that every party enters the election with the hope of victory, emphasizing the importance of ethical campaigning. Anutin pledged readiness for immediate governance if Bhumjaithai secures enough seats, highlighting the party's evolution with experienced and competent personnel.

Policy-wise, Anutin discussed initiatives aimed at stimulating the economy and enhancing agricultural product prices, particularly rice. He envisions boosting the global demand for premium jasmine rice from regions like Surin and Ubon Ratchathani, thereby increasing local incomes and supporting economic projects like the "Half-Price Plus" scheme.

Anutin also underlined the importance of preparing the 2027 budget in alignment with Bhumjaithai's policies to maintain fiscal discipline and Thailand's financial credibility. He cited recent improvements in the country's credit rating as a testament to the party's effective governance.

The potential lead in Kantharalak district and speculation about Anutin's return as Prime Minister were addressed with humility, as he focused on the Bhumjaithai Party's growth and objectives. Anutin also commented on differing opinions about government formation post-election, suggesting that clarity would come once results are finalized. His final push in the campaign is bolstered by positive feedback and growing confidence.
