Anutin Confident in Innocence After Court Dismisses Petition

Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul expressed his gratitude towards the Constitutional Court for dismissing a petition concerning the use of public land and an agreement with the People's Party. He emphasized his confidence in his integrity, asserting that despite being in politics for 22 years and facing scrutiny, he could manage his affairs without wrongdoing. Anutin dismissed the notion that affiliation with the "blue party" was his only means of survival, reaffirming his belief in his innocence.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party and a prime ministerial candidate, addressed the media following the Constitutional Court's unanimous decision to dismiss allegations of ethical violations. These included the misuse of public roads for aircraft operations benefiting businesses and the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). Anutin, unaware of the petition's origin, thanked the court for ensuring justice.

Anutin recounted discovering the lawsuit through social media, highlighting that the lack of a formal complaint prevented him from assembling a legal team. He expressed confidence in his innocence, citing his long political career since 2004 and his efforts to remain free of conflicts of interest or constitutional violations.

Addressing criticisms related to the "Blue Party," Anutin acknowledged the inevitability of public scrutiny but maintained his innocence. He reflected on his 22-year political journey, noting the challenges of mudslinging and defamation, yet remained assured of his integrity.

Anutin further emphasized his financial independence from his civil servant salary, stating it suffices for his needs. With no personal responsibilities or investments, he dedicates himself to national service, distancing himself from private sector interests since assuming office as Prime Minister.
