Nakhon si thammarat: In the final stretch of his campaign, Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, embarked on a tour of southern provinces, beginning with a series of spiritual and cultural engagements. His activities in Nakhon Si Thammarat included participating in a candlelit procession, draping cloth over the revered Phra Maha That stupa, and paying respects at the city's main shrine. Anutin also showcased a Jatukam Ramathep amulet, noted for its auspicious properties, which he wore during the tour. Additionally, he engaged in shopping for silver jewelry, acquiring pieces such as a gold-framed pendant and a Garuda amulet from Chao Khun Thongchai.
According to Thai News Agency, Anutin's campaign trip commenced in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, accompanied by fellow party leaders Pipat Ratchakitprakarn and Thanagorn Wangboonkhongchana. Upon arrival, Anutin initiated his duties by performing rituals at significant sacred sites, including the Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan Temple, where he draped cloth over the pagoda and paid homage to the temple's guardian giants. He also visited the City Pillar Shrine to honor the city pillar and worship the deity Jatukham Ramathep.
Reporters observed Anutin wearing a woven necklace featuring a gold-encased Jatukam Ramathep amulet, identified as a 1987 model. This amulet is renowned for its spiritual power, offering good fortune and protection from adversity, making it a sought-after model among Jatukam amulets. During his visit, Anutin interacted with locals and visited a nearby amulet framing shop, where he displayed a Garuda amulet gifted by Phra Khun Thongchai.
Before delivering a speech at a rally, Anutin engaged with villagers near the city's main shrine, taking selfies and purchasing a silver brooch to hang the Garuda amulet. He also acquired a gold frame for the amulet from a local niello shop, expressing admiration for its craftsmanship. Anutin's entourage, including Minister Santi Piyathat, also highlighted the significance of the Garuda amulet.
In addition to his spiritual activities, Anutin received requests from villagers for government support in establishing a bilingual religious school, reflecting the community's educational aspirations.
