Anutin Leads “Quick Big Win” Initiative to Boost Thai Economy

Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, led the “Quick Big Win” initiative at the National Competitiveness Policy Committee meeting, focusing on accelerating human resource development and enhancing Thai entrepreneurship.

According to Thai News Agency, during the 3rd meeting of 2025 of the National Competitiveness Enhancement Policy Committee for Targeted Industries, Anutin chaired discussions alongside Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanpraphas, Minister of Industry Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, and other key officials. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the meeting as a platform for collaborative efforts to advance national missions and achieve economic goals.

Anutin highlighted the National Competitiveness Enhancement Fund for Targeted Industries as a crucial tool to support government policies, particularly the “5th Pillar: Investment for the Future” under the Quick Big Win strategy. He underscored the need for measures that would drive this mechanism forward, aiming for tangible results.

The committee approved two significant measures to support future investments. The first measure focuses on developing highly skilled personnel for modern industries. It involves funding universities and training institutions to upskill and reskill workers, aligning their skills with modern industry needs. The goal is to prepare 100,000 individuals, including students and current labor market participants, for industry changes.

The second measure targets enhancing Thai entrepreneurs’ competitiveness by promoting efficiency improvements, research and development, and the transformation of existing businesses into new and green industries. This includes the use of automation and digital technology.

Anutin also stressed the importance of expediting the certification process for skilled Thai personnel and entrepreneurs. He suggested working with the Professional Qualification Institute to ensure certifications meet ASEAN standards, thus boosting the capabilities of Thai workers and entrepreneurs.
