Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, recently addressed the absence of Deputy Prime Minister Bowornsak Uwanno from the cabinet list for his second term, sparking speculation about potential changes in the political landscape. When questioned about Bowornsak's status, Anutin cryptically replied, "How did you know," leaving room for speculation about the future composition of his cabinet.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Anutin clarified that he had spoken with Bowornsak only as a colleague, with no further implications. He explained that each cabinet term is distinct, even if they share the same Prime Minister, emphasizing that there are no predetermined rules about continuity of positions. The decision-making process for submitting the cabinet list to the King is rigorous and considers all relevant aspects, underscoring the separation between consecutive cabinets, a point Anutin reiterated.
The potential reshuffle involves Mr. Pakorn Nilapraphan, the Secretary-General of the Council of State, who is slated to replace Bowornsak as Deputy Prime Minister for Legal Affairs. Despite these developments, Anutin refrained from commenting further and left the press conference abruptly.
In a separate inquiry about rising fuel prices and government measures to address them, Anutin chose not to respond, instead leaving the Government House without further comment.
