Bangkok: Boss Jo Yomnil is facing significant stress as his Luk Thung band grapples with the ongoing oil price crisis, which has severely impacted their ability to perform. In response, he is preparing to launch a skincare product line to create alternative career opportunities for the band members.
According to Thai News Agency, the fuel shortage has severely impacted the Mor Lam band, Saonoi Phet Ban Phaeng. Boss Jo Yomnil, the band's leader, expressed his concerns to the Nine Entertainment news team about the daily challenges they face due to the crisis. The band, which performs daily, is experiencing travel delays and stress, particularly with long queues at provincial gas stations and the limitations on fuel availability. Boss Jo has appealed to event organizers for understanding if the situation deteriorates to the point where the band cannot reach performance venues.
The fuel required for the band's generator is another pressing issue, with costs escalating to around 8,000 baht for a full tank. The fuel limits threaten their ability to maintain operations, causing constant worry for the band, which has performances scheduled daily. Boss Jo shared that he has never encountered such challenges in his managerial career, not even during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Boss Jo has called on government officials to recognize the fuel shortage's impact on the provinces. The crisis has already led to the postponement of his film project "Khai Ao 2" due to uncertainties and risks involved. As part of his contingency plans, Boss Jo is venturing into skincare products, including creams and sunscreen, for online sales. This initiative aims to support the band members financially, providing an alternative income source.
Additionally, Boss Jo uses his managerial experience to guide his group in handling online drama. As the band maintains an active online presence, they encounter varying public opinions. He encourages his students to accept constructive criticism while maintaining a strong mindset against merely negative comments. This guidance helps them navigate the challenges of public scrutiny in their careers.
