Bangkok: The final list of 35 members for "Anutin's Cabinet 2" has been unveiled, notably excluding any representatives from the Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP). As the cabinet formation nears completion, the spotlight now shifts to the verification of the qualifications of the appointed members.
According to Thai News Agency, the cabinet for Anutin Charnvirakul's second term includes 35 individuals, with Anutin himself serving as both Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. The list features Mr. Songsak Thongsri, Mr. Pakorn Nilapraphan, Mr. Ekniti Nitithanpraphas, and Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, among others, in significant roles such as Deputy Prime Ministers and various ministerial positions, covering finance, foreign affairs, and higher education.
Significant appointments include Ms. Supajee Suthamphan as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen as Minister of Defence, and Mr. Surasak Panjaroenvorakul as Minister of Tourism and Sports. Meanwhile, Ms. Sudawan Wangsupakitkosol leads the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and Mr. Suriya Jungrungruangkit takes charge of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
The process of verifying the background checks, qualifications, and disqualification criteria of the cabinet members has started, with a reserve list prepared for those who might not meet the criteria. It is anticipated that once the qualifications are confirmed, Anutin will present the finalized list to His Majesty the King for further proceedings.
Reporters indicate that out of the 36 available ministerial positions, one remains unconfirmed, pending further clarification. This situation arises as more names have been submitted than the allotted positions.
Deputy Prime Minister Bowornsak Uwanno's exclusion from the list follows the Bhumjaithai Party's executive committee decision on March 21st. The committee nominated individuals for the ministerial roles in accordance with the party's rules, and Bowornsak was informed of his non-inclusion on that date.
