Krabi: The 15th Ao Luek Love Festival has commenced, offering an array of attractions for tourists while promoting cultural tourism and bolstering the community economy. Ms. Sasithorn Kittithornkul, Deputy Minister of Interior, led the opening ceremony, which took place at the field at the Ao Luek District Administrative Center in Krabi Province. The festival, organized by Ao Luek District in collaboration with the Krabi Provincial Administrative Organization and other local entities, will run from December 3-7, 2025. It honors His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother, recognizing their graciousness and aiming to implement the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy. The event seeks to promote tourism, create jobs, generate income for local residents, and preserve the unique identity and culture of Ao Luek District.

According to Thai News Agency, the festival features a city merit-making ceremony, retro costumes from the reign of King Rama V, and a parade honoring the King and Queen. Sub-districts from Ao Luek District will participate in parades that highlight the district’s unique culture, lifestyle, and traditions, which beautifully blend the influences of Thai Buddhists, Thai Muslims, and Thai-Chinese communities. Additionally, there will be simulations of the traditional houses and lifestyles of Ao Luek District residents, showcasing their evolution from past to present.

The festival also includes the sale of local snacks, food, OTOP products, and community products. Stage contests, performances, local cultural displays, government exhibitions, local games, and cultural tourism activities aim to promote the local economy by generating income and increasing the recognition of Ao Luek District.
