Arrest of young man who tricked young people into recording pornographic clips and extorted money ?

Arrest of 32-year-old man who created Facebook avatar, chatted and tricked young people into recording obscene clips and sending them to him, before threatening and extorting money. Checking his mobile phone revealed chat messages with several other victims.

Police from the Technology Crime Suppression Center, Region 5 Police, raided and arrested Mr. Phitsanu, 32 years old, a suspect with an arrest warrant from the Chiang Mai Provincial Court dated October 16, 2024, ‘charges of extortion and corruption by entering information into a computer system.’ The arrest was made at the parking lot of Bang Na Nok Temple, Bang Na Tai Subdistrict, Bang Na District, Bangkok, before searching his room and seizing evidence of 3 mobile phones and 3 bank account books.

The arrest followed a report on August 29th that the parents of a 12-year-old boy in Chiang Mai Province filed a complaint that Mr. Phitsanu had used the Facebook name Hades Speed ??Speed ??Speed ??to pretend to be a woman and chat with his son until they bec
ame close. He then convinced his son to take off his clothes and record a video clip and send it to him. He then sent the video back to blackmail his son, threatening him with various vulgar words and extorting money. The son was so scared that he transferred money to him 12 times, totaling 7,089 baht. Later, the police investigated and found out that Mr. Phitsanu was in Bangkok, so they immediately arrested him. Mr. Phitsanu confessed to all charges. An examination of Mr. Phitsanu’s mobile phone revealed that he had chatted with 9 other boys and girls, mostly about sex. From now on, the police will urgently investigate to find out where Mr. Phitsanu has committed the crime against other children. They would like to warn parents to closely monitor their children because what happened is a serious threat to society.
