Narathiwat: An arrest warrant has been issued for Sahabudin Muesoh, a member of the group responsible for the attack on a military checkpoint in Narathiwat. A manhunt is currently underway in the mountains, with footage revealing his movements along multiple routes.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident involved 13 assailants who used firearms and pipe bombs to attack the Bukeh Sami checkpoint in Tan Yong Mas Subdistrict, Ra-ngae District, Narathiwat Province. The attack resulted in the deaths of five soldiers and injuries to six civilians. Investigators have gathered evidence and requested an additional arrest warrant from the Narathiwat Provincial Court for Mr. Sahabudin Muesoh, based on DNA found at the scene. This follows an earlier warrant for Azizun Madae. Further investigation has revealed connections through vehicle routes.

The tools used in the crime and eyewitness accounts from CCTV footage identified 13 perpetrators in total. Authorities have issued arrest warrants for two individuals, and more warrants are expected soon. Both individuals face charges related to being members of a criminal gang, committing terrorism, and other related offenses.

Special operations teams from Narathiwat, Yala, and Pattani are continuing their efforts to locate four southern insurgent leaders: Masafee Timo, Abdullah Masae, Ismael Jae-wae, and Azizun Madae in the Moeta mountain range. Despite discovering traces of people using the area as a passageway and possible hideouts for the insurgents, the leaders and their group have not yet been found after three days of operations.
