Art Exhibition Commemorates 50 Years of Thai-Chinese Diplomatic Relations

Bangkok: An art exhibition celebrating 50 years of Thai-Chinese relations reflects social identity and strengthens the friendship between the two countries. Mr. Pinit Charusombat, President of the Thai-Chinese Cultural Council and Promotion of Relations, presided over the opening ceremony of the ‘1st According to Thai News Agency, Thai-Chinese Art Exhibition,’ marking this significant milestone at the National Museum of Art (Chao Fa Gallery) in Bangkok. Distinguished attendees included Prof. Dr. Thanaset Ngaohiranpat, Rector of Silpakorn University; Mr. Montien Chusueahing, Senior Art Scholar from the Fine Arts Department; and representatives from the Ministry of Culture. A special lecture on ’50 Years of Thai-Chinese Relations’ was delivered by Dr. Tech Bunnag, Secretary-General of the Thai Red Cross Society.

The exhibition is organized by Silpakorn University in collaboration with the China National Academy of Painting, the Thai-Chinese Cultural Council, and the Ministry of Culture. It celebrates the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China, highlighting the interconnectedness of arts and culture. This medium of spiritual exchange transcends borders, reflecting the unique characteristics of each society and strengthening the bonds of friendship and goodwill. The accumulated and passed down works of art from both Thailand and China serve as testaments to the profound beauty and value of the cultures of both countries.

The exhibition features paintings, sculptures, and contemporary art from leading Thai and Chinese artists, conveying stories, history, and the long-standing cultural roots of both nations. Some of the works have received international acclaim and reflect the artistic styles that have evolved within the contemporary social context of both countries. The exhibition also showcases a high level of artistic exchange and understanding, bringing together valuable works from outstanding artists of both nations to provide the public with a deeper understanding of their cultural dimensions. Furthermore, in 2026, the Thai-Chinese Cultural Council will support a similar exhibition by Thai artists in Beijing.
