Bangkok: Asalha Puja Day, observed on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, holds significant importance in Buddhism as it marks the day the Buddha delivered his first sermon, the "Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta," to the five ascetics known as Pancavaggiya. This event led to the emergence of the first Arahants, or enlightened disciples, and completed the Three Jewels: the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha.

According to Thai News Agency, Asalha Puja Day is a time for Buddhists to engage in merit-making activities to bring good fortune into their lives. Activities include offering alms to monks, listening to sermons, and circumambulating the temple with candles. These practices are an invitation for everyone to participate in this auspicious day of great significance in Buddhism.
