Bail Granted to Actors Sam and Min in Fraud Case

Bangkok: The court granted bail to Sam and Min, with a surety of 1 million baht each. The Criminal Court has provided bail to "Sam" and "Min," prohibiting them from leaving the Kingdom unless they receive authorization.

According to Thai News Agency, the Public Prosecutor's Office, Special Cases Division 1, has scheduled the indictment of Ms. Peechaya Wattanamontri, known as Boss Min, and Mr. Yuranan Bhamornmontri, known as Boss Sam. These two well-known actors are suspects in a case involving public fraud through The Icon Group Co., Ltd., and have been slated to appear before the Criminal Court.

The court recently noted that the public prosecutor initially issued an order not to indict Mr. Yuranan and Ms. Peechaya, resulting in their release. However, the indictment was later ordered by the prosecutor on the same grounds and charges as the previous case, allowing for further contestation. The defendants attended court as scheduled, and there was no evidence of an attempt to flee or tamper with evidence. The public prosecutor did not oppose their temporary release.

Despite an earlier denial of bail during the investigation, the court acknowledged the changed circumstances and found justifiable reasons to grant bail to the defendants during the trial. Due to the significant number of victims and the high value of the damages, bail was set at 1 million baht. Furthermore, the defendants are restricted from traveling outside the Kingdom unless authorized and with notification to the Immigration Police.
