Bangkok Police Arrest Drug-Addicted Father for Sexual Abuse

Bangkok: The Narcotics Suppression Division of the Bangkok Metropolitan Police arrested a drug-addicted father who had been sexually abusing his daughter for years. He was apprehended at a construction camp near Phra Prang Sam Yot in Lopburi Province after evading capture by crossing provincial borders.

According to Thai News Agency, the arrest was executed by a task force from the Metropolitan Police Bureau, which included officers from the Narcotics Suppression Center (NSCC). The suspect, identified only as "Chai" (pseudonym), is a 40-year-old man charged with repeated sexual abuse of his family members. The operation to capture him was ordered by top officials from the Metropolitan Police, including Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Teeradet Thamsuthee, Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police.

The suspect was wanted under arrest warrant No. 1410/2569 issued by the Criminal Court on March 10, 2026, for the offense of "rape" and "committing murder against a descendant." The arrest occurred on March 20, 2026, at a construction camp in Mueang Lopburi District.

The investigation uncovered that the suspect's heavy drug addiction led to his criminal behavior. It was reported that his drug use severely impaired his moral judgment and self-control, resulting in the transformation from a guardian to a criminal who repeatedly abused his daughter. The suspect's actions were reportedly driven by his addiction to methamphetamine and crystal meth, which he admitted caused him to act impulsively.

The arrest was made possible after Pol. Maj. Gen. Teeradet Thamsuthee ordered a swift operation to track down the suspect due to the victim's fear from continued harassment and the threat posed by the suspect's release of images on social media. The suspect confessed to the charges upon arrest and was subsequently handed over to the Chanasongkhram Police Station for further legal proceedings.
