Bangkok Residents Advised to Wear Masks Amid High PM2.5 Levels in Bueng Kum

Bangkok: Residents of Bangkok have been cautioned to wear masks to shield themselves from elevated PM2.5 levels, particularly in Bueng Kum, where air quality has surpassed standard safety levels. The Bangkok Air Quality Information Center has highlighted the urgent need for protective measures as PM2.5 levels in the area have reached concerning heights.

According to Thai News Agency, the average PM2.5 concentration in Bangkok was recorded at 27.9 micrograms per cubic meter on November 10, 2025. Bueng Kum District registered the highest dust values at 56.2 micrograms per cubic meter, significantly exceeding safe limits. Other districts with notable PM2.5 levels include Bang Rak at 37.5 micrograms per cubic meter, Lak Si at 37.2, Wang Thonglang and Bang Khen both at 36.8, Pathum Wan at 36.6, and several others with readings exceeding 33 micrograms per cubic meter.

The overall air quality in Bangkok is considered moderate. Authorities are advising the public to utilize PM2.5 masks outdoors and remain vigilant for symptoms such as coughing, breathing difficulties, or eye irritation. Individuals particularly vulnerable to air pollution are urged to take extra precautions by avoiding outdoor activities that require physical exertion. Immediate medical consultation is recommended if any health abnormalities are experienced.
