Bangkok: Bhumjaithai has tasked Anutin Charnvirakul and Chaijanok Charnvirakul with coordinating the formation of the government team, emphasizing that they will wait for the Election Commission to certify the election results before anything becomes clear. Regarding Palang Pracharath, they have only had preliminary discussions. Meanwhile, the 193 newly elected MPs are preparing to work in parliament.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Nan Bunthida Somchai, spokesperson for the Bhumjaithai Party, announced the results of today's meeting of the party's prospective MPs, stating that it was the first meeting of all 193 prospective MPs. The main topics discussed included preparations for the post-election period, the waiting period for certification and registration, and the types of parliamentary work they will undertake as prospective MPs, including participation in standing and ad hoc committees.
Regarding the formation of the government team, Ms. Nan Bunthida stated that the meeting assigned only Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, the party leader, and Mr. Chaiyanok Chidchob, the party secretary-general, to discuss and contact the various political parties that were elected in this election.
Regarding when the coalition government will become clearer, the spokesperson for the Bhumjaithai Party stated that all 500 people currently are only prospective MPs, and therefore, they must wait for the Election Commission (EC) to officially certify the results before it can be confirmed whether the figures currently stated are accurate. He emphasized that they must wait for the EC's certification. As for discussions, he said they will continue, with only two members acting as liaisons and communicating with other parties.
Regarding the Palang Pracharath Party's absence from today's press conference, was there any significance to that? The spokesperson for the Bhumjaithai Party stated that there was no significance whatsoever; it was merely an initial discussion. Today, only three political parties have confirmed their support for Mr. Anutin.
