Warning Issued Over Cambodian Troops Harassing Thai Soldiers at Ban Nong Chan Border

Sa kaeo: The 1st Army Area Command has disclosed that the Eastern Command has coordinated with the 5th Military Region to issue a warning to Cambodian soldiers regarding their disruptive conduct towards Thai troops stationed at the border near Ban Nong Chan in Sa Kaeo Province.

According to Thai News Agency, the Eastern Command reported an incident where approximately 13 armed Cambodian soldiers approached the area to observe and engage in conversation with Thai soldiers. This occurred at around 10:30 AM on February 12, 2026, while Task Force 12 was involved in trench-digging operations north of the currently controlled area, about 300 meters from the container in Ban Nong Chan, Khok Sung District.

In response to the situation, Task Force 12, in collaboration with the 5th Military Region of Cambodia, took measures to ensure that Cambodian personnel are controlled and that such behavior does not recur, which could potentially escalate tensions due to provocative language. The current situation has been reported as normal, with the Eastern Command continuing to bolster security in the area. No further presence of Cambodian soldiers has been detected in front of the line since the incident.
