Bangkok: Bhumjaithai Party has officially launched its strategic plan to establish a strong presence in Bangkok by introducing Lalita Rerksamran as a prospective candidate for the upcoming elections. Deputy Prime Minister Sophon Saram, a senior member of the party, alongside Supamas Isaraphakdi, leader of the party’s Bangkok team, expressed confidence in their ability to secure a significant foothold in the city.
According to Thai News Agency, the announcement marks a pivotal move for the Bhumjaithai Party as it seeks to elevate its standing in Bangkok’s MP constituencies, which have traditionally been challenging for the party. The recent appointment of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has boosted the party’s confidence, with an emphasis on attracting a diverse range of skilled politicians to the team, combining experience with new ideas.
Sophon highlighted the party’s pragmatic approach, contrasting it with other political groups that rely on untested ideological rhetoric. The Bhumjaithai Party prides itself on immediate action, encapsulated by its slogans “Speak and Do” and “Quick Big Win.” The party’s policies, including the “Half-Half Plus” initiative, aim to drive swift and substantial progress for Thailand.
Supamas outlined the inclusive strategy for the Bangkok elections, noting a surge of interest from former Bangkok Metropolitan Council members. The party is committed to fielding a diverse array of candidates, embracing experienced politicians, newcomers, and individuals from all backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ communities. The Bhumjaithai Party seeks candidates who are dedicated to the party’s principles and motivated to make a difference in Bangkok.
Lalita, who has been out of the political spotlight since 2007, reaffirmed her dedication to serving the public. She believes in the Bhumjaithai Party’s pragmatic approach and action-oriented policies, such as the “Half-Half Plus” program, which have provided tangible benefits to grassroots communities. With her return, Lalita aims to address the real challenges faced by the people, particularly in economic recovery and support for local businesses.
