Sisaket: "Big Dul" (General Apirat Kongsompong) declared that border control is underway, with no signs of a third clash. He emphasized efforts to restore confidence in Kantharalak district, highlighting the military's role in protecting national sovereignty and attracting tourists back to the area. He also pledged to improve the quality of life for frontline soldiers and continue "Big Lek's" (General Prawit Wongsuwan's) policies of providing full support to military personnel.
According to Thai News Agency, at the Kantharalak District Office, Sisaket Province, Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Minister of Defence, gave an interview after presiding over the opening ceremony of the event "Uniting Thai People, Reviving the Spirit of Kantharalak, Uniting in Love and Harmony, Honoring Brave Soldiers." He stated that the event was held to honor the soldiers who fought in the two past conflicts, to encourage and restore morale among the villagers, and to build confidence in their lives and property. He also assured businesses and investors that the public could continue their lives normally, assuring them that the soldiers in the area would be able to protect national sovereignty should any further fighting occur. He encouraged tourists to visit Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, which boasts many beautiful tourist attractions such as Pha Mor E Daeng, Khao Sattasom, and the Sam Tae mountain range. He also mentioned that the area of Phu Makheua was reclaimed during the past con flicts.
Lieutenant General Adul said he was not worried about the border area because, based on the two previous battles, Thailand had complete control of the area and there were no indications of a third conflict. However, if there were any warnings, they would be able to detect them and alert the public promptly. He urged the public to rely on official government media for accurate information and not to listen to social media that only seeks views. He added that the morale of the soldiers in the area remains high. He stated that he is here to improve the quality of life for border patrol personnel, ensuring they have adequate facilities such as running water, electricity, good roads, and mobile phone service. He also mentioned that Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul had instructed him to ensure the well-being of the soldiers is improved.
When asked further whether former Defense Minister General Natthaphol Nakpanich had given any guidelines, Lieutenant General Adul said that General Natthaphol had asked him to take good care of the welfare of lower-ranking soldiers. He confirmed that he would proceed according to the guidelines given by General Natthaphol and was ready to continue the work.
