Big Pom Resigns as Leader of Palang Pracharath Party; Trinuch Appointed New Leader

Bangkok: "Big Pom," also known as General Prawit Wongsuwan, has resigned from his position as the leader of the Palang Pracharath Party. The announcement was made by Mr. Paiboon Nititawan, Deputy Leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, following an executive committee meeting at the party's headquarters.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Paiboon reported that the executive committee has appointed Ms. Treenuch Thianthong as the new leader of the Palang Pracharath Party. Despite stepping down from his leadership role, General Prawit will continue to play an influential role within the party as its chief advisor, providing guidance and support from behind the scenes.

Mr. Paiboon clarified that General Prawit's decision to resign was due to health-related reasons and not influenced by any political pressures. He assured that the party's political activities will proceed as planned, and this transition in leadership will not impact their preparations for the forthcoming election.
