Bangkok: The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) has issued an apology and initiated disciplinary action following an incident where a bus driver parked across train tracks at the Ratchaprarop intersection. The BMTA explained that the situation arose when the bus, operating on route 204, encountered a sudden traffic halt during a green light period.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident involving the air-conditioned bus, route 204, vehicle number 8-55128, occurred at approximately 10:30 AM as the bus was heading towards Bangkok Aphiwat Station. The bus had stopped at a traffic light on Ratchaprarop Road when traffic unexpectedly came to a standstill, causing the vehicle to become trapped on the railway tracks. An inspector on duty in the vehicle promptly took action to manage the situation in line with emergency safety procedures.

The BMTA coordinated efforts with the State Railway of Thailand and local volunteers to manage traffic and ensure that the train could pass safely. The driver involved has been disciplined in accordance with the organization's regulations. The BMTA has reiterated its commitment to safety by reminding all drivers to adhere strictly to regulations and exercise caution in evaluating traffic conditions. Additionally, all staff and personnel have been instructed to follow the highest safety measures to safeguard passengers.
