According to Thai News Agency, the damage from the fighting affected homes in the Saothongchai subdistrict of Kantaralak district, Sisaket province. This area, now known as the "bullet-strike subdistrict," has seen many houses repaired and rebuilt thanks to government relief efforts. The family of Mrs. Sompong Sutthison, 66, recently held a housewarming ceremony after their original house was destroyed by a bomb blast during last year's clashes. With government compensation, the new house was completed, allowing the family to be reunited. Mrs. Sompong expressed her happiness at finally having a completed home but acknowledged the need to remain prepared.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Thongsuk Monthaisong, 59, has also received compensation and now has a restored home. She admits to still feeling anxious, recalling the incident when her house was bombed. However, as a lifelong resident of the border area, she understands the need to adapt and be ready for any situation. Mrs. Thongsuk hopes for lasting peace in the border region so that people no longer have to live in fear.
