Mr. Karom Polpornklang, Deputy Government Spokesperson, revealed that the Cabinet has acknowledged the actions regarding the opening, extension and closure of border crossings between Thailand and neighboring countries as follows: Acknowledged the opening of the permanent border crossing at the Thai-Cambodian Friendship Bridge (Nong Ien-Stung Bot), Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province, in order not to lose opportunities and benefits in trade for the country, and to reduce traffic congestion at the Ban Klong Luek-Poipet permanent border crossing, which is consistent with the stance of the Cambodian government, which agrees to temporarily open the Thai-Cambodian Friendship Bridge (Nong Ien-Stung Bot). Acknowledged the adjustment of the opening hours of the Du permanent border crossing, Ban Khok District, Uttaradit Province from the original 06.00 - 20 .00 hrs. of every day to 08.00 - 18.00 hrs. of every day in order to facilitate entry and exit and to create unity in working together. This is to be consistent with the current conditions of use and the status of the Khon Phueng checkpoint, Ban Chom Kaeo, Muang Kaen Thao, Xayabouly Province, Laos. Acknowledged the extension of the opening and closing hours of the permanent border crossing at Chong Sangam, Phusing District, Sisaket Province, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Acknowledged the closure of the permanent border crossing at Ban Pak Huai, Nong Phue Subdistrict, Tha Li District, Loei Province. Any operations in the border area must be done with care to prevent damage and impacts on security. Relevant government agencies must strictly comply with the Cabinet Resolution of 12 October 1999 regarding guidelines for road construction or any activities along the border area and the Cabinet Resolution of 10 May 2005 regarding the suspension of road construction in the area of ??the Chong Chom permanent border crossing in Surin Province.
