Bangkok: The Cabinet has approved the appointment and transfer of nine senior executives within the Ministry of Commerce. According to Thai News Agency, the reshuffling was proposed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, Ms. Supajee Suthamphan, and gained approval during the Cabinet meeting on September 8, 2026.

Mr. Wittayakorn Maneenet, who previously held the role of Director-General of the Department of Internal Trade, has been elevated to the position of Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce. In a related move, Mr. Wattanasak Suea-iam, formerly the Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Commerce, will return to his previous role as Director-General of the Department of Internal Trade.

Ms. Oramon Sapthaveetham, the outgoing Director-General of the Department of Intellectual Property, has been appointed as the Inspector-General of the Ministry of Commerce. Meanwhile, Ms. Jittima Srithaporn, who served as Deputy Permanent Secretary, has assumed the role of Director-General of the Department of Intellectual Property.

Further changes include Mr. Warawut Somwangprasert's appointment as Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion. Mr. Warawut previously had a tenure as Deputy Director-General in the same department. Mr. Kittiwat Patchimanan has been named Director-General of the Department of Business Development.

Ms. Manasnit Chirawat, serving as a Commercial Advisor, is now the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce. In international appointments, Ms. Pimchanok Pittfield has been designated as Inspector-General of the Ministry of Commerce, and Ms. Kanittha Kangsuwanich will serve as the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to the World Trade Organization and the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva.

These appointments of all nine individuals are set to take effect from the date of the royal appointment.
