Chamber of Commerce Sees Positive Signs in US-China Talks

Washington: Chamber of Commerce sees positive signs from US-China talks to reduce import tariffs between each other for 90 days, confident that Thailand has a good package of offers to negotiate with the US, but must talk quickly.

According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Poj Aramwattananon, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, revealed during the SelectUSA Investment Summit 2025 in Washington, D.C. and Maryland, USA, about the progress of trade negotiations between the United States and China. The two countries have reached an agreement to reduce import tariffs for a period of 90 days, which is seen as a positive sign for the global economy and all countries, helping to reduce trade tensions.

Thailand, being an ally and strategic partner of the United States, is preparing to accelerate negotiations and present information to push for trade opportunities within this month. The private sector will work together to prepare a comprehensive package involving the country and the government, focusing on products and services to be used in negotiations. This aims to open the market and create economic advantages in the international trade arena. The Thai government is encouraged to act swiftly to prevent a vacuum in international trade and investment and to create more opportunities for trade and investment.
