Bangkok:"Chatchai" is prepared to address the demands of the 'Kamnan Mano' protest group, as they plan to gather at Government House on November 7th. He believes that dialogue is possible.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chatchai Bangchawad, Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office, spoke today at Government House regarding the preparations of Mano Kreukaew, the headman of Krabi Noi Subdistrict and leader of the People's Revolutionary Front for the Protection of the Land (PRNF). The protesters aim to camp outside Government House to demand government action on fuel prices and the cost of living.
Mr. Chatchai stated that the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister (OPM) has a complaints center at Government House ready to receive and analyze demands before presenting them to the government or forwarding them to relevant agencies. He affirmed the ongoing cooperation between the government and the public.
When questioned about special precautions due to the mobilization of protesters from the South and other regions, Mr. Chatchai noted the necessity of understanding the protesters' intentions. He expressed willingness to listen to demands or reconsider symbolic expressions but anticipated a peaceful gathering, likely with police permission.
Mr. Chatchai also confirmed that officials are always ready to receive complaints, either in person or via the 24-hour hotline 1111. He reiterated openness to dialogue, despite the protest leaders not yet contacting the National Security Council, which is coordinating with the police. The Prime Minister has not made specific remarks, suggesting the process should continue as planned.
