Chief of Defence Forces Chairs 2nd Meeting of Armed Forces Chiefs for 2026

Bangkok: The Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Armed Forces visited the Royal Thai Army headquarters and chaired the 2nd meeting of the Chiefs of the Armed Forces for the year 2026. General Ukrit Boontanon, Chief of Defence Forces, was welcomed by General Phana Klaewplodthuk, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, along with other senior army officers during his visit. According to Thai News Agency, the Supreme Commander inspected the honor guard in front of the Royal Thai Army Museum and paid respects to the statue of King Rama V. He also participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Royal Thai Army Memorial Wall, which honors the soldiers and volunteers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The visit included a briefing from the Army Operations Department, which covered the missions and key operations of the Army for fiscal year 2026 under the policy framework. The Commander-in-Chief of the Army and senior commanders presented reports on the overall security situation and key missions currently being undertaken by the Army, highlighting its support for the government's security and public assistance missions. Later in the day, at 10:00 AM, the Supreme Commander chaired the 2nd/2026 meeting of the commanders of the armed forces. The meeting focused on discussing important security issues, enhancing cooperation among the different branches, and establishing a unified direction for joint operations.
