China to Intensify Efforts Against Online Fraud by 2025

Beijing: China reveals it will crack down on over 250,000 online fraud cases nationwide by 2025. China's Public Security Ministry disclosed that it had already tackled more than 250,000 online fraud cases across the country last year.

According to Thai News Agency, Xinhua News Agency reported a statement from a spokesperson for China's Ministry of Public Security, indicating that by 2025, Chinese police had cracked down on 258,000 telecommunications and online fraud cases nationwide. During these operations, they seized over 21.7 million yuan (approximately 97.6 million baht) in fraud-related funds and arrested 542 accomplices, leaders, and key members involved in the fraud gangs.

Furthermore, the Chinese police have intensified international law enforcement cooperation with Myanmar, Thailand, and Cambodia to combat the growing issue of online fraud. As part of these efforts, more than 7,600 Chinese nationals suspected of involvement in online fraud cases have been deported from Myawaddy, Myanmar, back to China.
