Chongqing Unveils Giant 905-Meter Escalator to Ease Commuter Strain

Chongqing: The Chinese city of Chongqing has recently tested a massive 905-meter-long escalator, designed to address the challenges faced by residents who are often fatigued from navigating detours and climbing steep hills.

According to Thai News Agency, the trial run of the "Shenn Escalator" commenced in the Chongqing municipality, located in southwestern China. This giant outdoor escalator connects significant locations, including government offices, hospitals, schools, and ports. The initiative seeks to provide relief from the persistent issue of long detours and uphill climbs that residents have to endure.

The Shennyu escalator complex features an impressive length of 905 meters with a vertical incline of 242 meters. It includes 21 escalators, 8 vertical elevators, 4 movable walkways, 2 pedestrian overpasses, and 2 pedestrian crossings, offering a comprehensive solution for efficient and convenient urban mobility.
