According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chuan expressed that Mr. Thanaporn is a key hope for the Democrat Party in the Northeast. He emphasized the importance of Ubon Ratchathani to the party, noting that Mr. Fong Sitthitham and Mr. Lieng Chaiyakal, co-founders of the party, hail from this province.

Historically, the Democrat Party has maintained a presence in Ubon Ratchathani Province and the broader Northeast region. However, recent defections of former MPs from Ubon Ratchathani have made it imperative for the party to refocus its attention on this area, with the goal of enhancing the quality of life for citizens in the Northeast.
