Bangkok: “Chulaphan” is ready to continue with two policies: lottery for retirement and debt relief. Chulaphan Amornvivat, the Pheu Thai candidate for Prime Minister, has committed to addressing poverty in Thailand by implementing two pivotal policies: the retirement lottery and debt relief. He emphasized that solving the debt issues of Thai citizens is foundational to economic reform and not merely a populist gesture.
According to Thai News Agency, the Pheu Thai Party recently held an event titled “Overhauling Thailand: Pheu Thai Can Do It,” introducing their three nominees for Prime Minister. The event was attended by former Prime Ministers and party members, who gathered to discuss the party’s future directions. Chulaphan, as the leader and prime ministerial candidate, expressed his commitment to reviving the Pheu Thai Party and making it a beacon of hope for the Thai people. He highlighted the party’s efforts in transforming communication strategies, enhancing parliamentary work, and forming inclusive committees to better address the needs of the populace.
For over 25 years, the Pheu Thai Party has remained dedicated to the people, Chulaphan stated. He reiterated his mission to overhaul Thailand and bring about significant change. With a background in economics and politics, Chulaphan has spent two decades in public service, including roles in various committees and as Deputy Minister of Finance. His dream has always been to use his expertise to eradicate poverty in Thailand.
Chulaphan outlined the party’s goals to improve the economic landscape by creating savings guarantees, providing debt relief, and opening up new income opportunities. He acknowledged the ongoing economic challenges faced by many Thais, including rising living costs, decreasing incomes, and substantial debt burdens. The retirement lottery is one of the urgent policies he proposed, aiming to provide financial security for senior citizens by converting lottery spending into savings.
The Pheu Thai Party’s debt relief strategy targets several groups, including those with informal debt, non-performing loans, farmers, retirees, and timely debt payers. The plan includes offering low-interest loans, restructuring debts, and providing installment relief to foster economic growth and stability.
Chulaphan concluded by affirming the Pheu Thai Party’s commitment to creating a prosperous future for all Thais, ensuring they have enough resources, dignity, and respect. He positioned the party as the only entity capable of effectively overhauling Thailand’s economy and improving the quality of life for its citizens.
