Chumphon Highway Police Campaign for Safe Driving, Giving Away Bananas and Steamed Buns

Chumphon: Chumphon Highway Police organized a volunteer activity to promote safe driving, giving away bananas and steamed buns, a Chumphon-Ranong specialty, to refresh people traveling south during the Songkran festival. Reporters reported that in front of the Tha Sae Highway Police Public Service Unit, Tha Sae District, Chumphon Province, Pol. Lt. Col. Kla Sombatphibun, Inspector of Highway Police Sub-Division 4, Division 2, Highway Police, Chumphon Highway Police officers, Highway Police volunteers, and public volunteers, along with Khun Saharai Restaurant, ST Coffee, P-COA Cocoa Beverages, ST Chumphon Coffee, Chumphon Provincial Electricity Authority, Viriyah Insurance, and Lactasoy Soy Milk, organized a campaign to drive safely during the Songkran Festival by distributing iced coffee, iced cocoa, drinking water, Thap Lee steamed buns, boiled eggs, and finger-licking bananas to people traveling back to their hometowns during the Songkran Festival to refresh drivers and prevent accidents that may occur duri
ng the festival.

According to Thai News Agency, helmets were given to the public under the traffic volunteer project to promote safe driving and wearing helmets to reduce accidents. In addition, communication with the public who use the road during the festival was emphasized, urging drivers to maintain safe speeds, avoid driving when sleepy, and to stop and rest when tired. A crucial part of the message was to avoid drinking and driving.

The highlight of today’s activities is that police officers dressed as angels, gods, and devils will be there to facilitate the people on the southbound route, creating fun and excitement.
