According to Thai News Agency, the meeting, held on November 16th, was a significant step in preparing for the parliamentary discussions, with ministers being briefed on the progress of the constitutional amendment. A special parliamentary session is slated to begin on December 8th.

Ms. Nan Bunthida Somchai, spokesperson for the Bhumjaithai Party, highlighted that a key agenda of the coalition meeting was to receive updates from the Constitutional Amendment Committee. The timing of the extraordinary parliamentary session, set a week before the regular session, underscores the urgency and importance of the constitutional amendment discussions.

Discussions also focused on the impending no-confidence motion announced by the opposition. Coalition parties are in the process of reviewing the profiles of individual ministers, as the specifics of the opposition’s motion remain uncertain.

In related developments, photos of Ms. Sudarat Pitakpornpallop and Mr. Chusak Manthim, MPs from the Pheu Thai Party, dining with Mr. Newin Chidchob, president of Buriram United Football Club, have surfaced, suggesting their potential shift to the Bhumjaithai Party. Ms. Nan confirmed the meeting occurred last Sunday, aligning with statements from Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, the Prime Minister’s Office spokesman.
