Bangkok: The World Bodybuilding Championships concluded with Thailand achieving remarkable success, securing 2 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal. The championship, officially closed on its final day, saw no additional medals for Thailand. The event was presided over by Dato’ Paul Chua, President of the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (WBPF), at the Pacific Palace Hotel.

According to Thai News Agency, the Thai national bodybuilding and fitness athletes showcased commendable performances. Lieutenant Damrongsak Soisri, a 6-time world champion, participated in the Men’s Athletic Physique category, under 182 cm, achieving 5th place. Kru Tae-Siriporn Sorchuai competed in the Lady Model Physique category, finishing 10th and not advancing to the final round.

The 16th World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships 2025 saw Thai athletes securing notable victories. “Miss Wonder Girl” Kanticha Sijan emerged as a rising star, winning a gold medal in women’s fitness over 165 cm and a silver in women’s youth model physique, general category. Lieutenant Damrongsak Soisri added another gold in men’s fitness over 170 cm, while Pornchai Thamsangwan claimed silver in men’s fitness under 170 cm. Kru Tae-Siriporn Sorchuai earned a bronze in women’s fitness under 165 cm.

Mr. Sukree Supawarikul, President of the Bodybuilding and Fitness Association of Thailand, expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, highlighting their dedication and teamwork. He conveyed gratitude for the support received and expressed optimism for the continued growth of Thai bodybuilding.

The upcoming 17th World Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships in 2026 will be hosted by Laos in Vientiane, marking their first time as hosts. The Thai association plans to continue sending athletes, confident in their potential to secure further victories at the world championship.
