Bangkok: A cocaine queen, the ex-wife of a Nigerian man, was arrested for acting as a major distributor selling cocaine to wealthy clients in Bangkok's luxury condominiums and urban communities for over a decade.
According to Thai News Agency, on January 23, 2026, Police General Kittirat Phanphet, the Commissioner General of the Royal Thai Police, directed his deputy commissioners and high-ranking officials from several units to collaborate with the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB). This collaboration launched an operation targeting the network trafficking Type 2 narcotics, specifically cocaine, within Bangkok.
The operation led to the arrest of four individuals, including two major drug dealers and two drug users. Authorities seized over 250 grams of cocaine, drug packaging equipment, bags, and assets linked to drug trafficking. The seized assets included cash, bank accounts, gold, branded goods, and several vehicles, with a total value exceeding 6.28 million baht.
This case stemmed from the "Cement Worker" operation in October 2025, which dismantled a Nigerian cocaine trafficking network in the Nana area. During that operation, nine Nigerian nationals were arrested, and numerous items of evidence were confiscated. Police then spent over three months tracking down a Thai woman, the ex-wife of one of the Nigerian men, who played a significant role as a distributor, selling cocaine illegally to affluent clients. The suspect personally delivered drugs to clients and used accomplices for distribution. The police arrested these accomplices and clients, leading to the capture of the cocaine queenpin alongside substantial evidence and ledgers detailing drug sales over several years, revealing a vast number of wealthy clients.
During her arrest, the suspect admitted to her connection with a Nigerian network and her ability to procure cocaine at low prices, which allowed her to become a prominent cocaine dealer in Thailand.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Teeradet Thamsuthee, Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, confirmed the case's success due to the integrated efforts of all drug suppression agencies in Bangkok. He emphasized the ongoing investigation into all related networks and requested public cooperation. He urged anyone with information about drug-related activities to report it to the hotlines 1599 or 191, available 24 hours a day, ensuring the confidentiality of the informant's information.
