Surin: Mum Jokmok and Na Thep Phothigam led a team of comedians to distribute food and bring joy to refugees at a shelter in Surin Province. Following the second wave of unrest along the Thai-Cambodian border, where Cambodian soldiers attacked Thai forces on December 7, 2025, in the Phu Pha Lek – Phlaen Hin Paet Kon area of Kantaralak District, Sisaket Province, the situation escalated into clashes in several areas along the border. This resulted in several Thai soldiers being injured and killed. Meanwhile, civilians living in the border areas were forced to evacuate for their safety. Some chose to stay with relatives in other areas, while others migrated to temporary shelters provided by the local communities.
According to Thai News Agency, yesterday, Mr. Chamroen Wanphet, Governor of Surin Province, visited and offered encouragement to evacuees at two temporary shelters in Surin Province. Following this, Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Deputy Minister of Defense, and famous comedian Mum Jokmok, along with Na Thep Phothigam and their entourage, visited to offer encouragement and bring joy to the children and evacuees residing in the shelters. They distributed toys, food such as crispy pork basil rice, bread, orange juice, and mooncakes, and entertained the crowd with music, encouraging fans of all ages, from young children to the elderly, to dance along. This activity significantly reduced stress among the evacuees.
At the first temporary shelter, Mum Jokmok jokingly remarked, “The war is almost over. We’ll use a million fireworks to flatten Cambodia completely!” before the group traveled to the second shelter to distribute food, snacks, and toys to the children, bringing joy to the refugees throughout the day.
