Bangkok: A conscript soldier, intoxicated by balloons, brandished a BB gun and threatened people before a brawl broke out, injuring two.

According to Thai News Agency, the disturbance unfolded at an entertainment venue in downtown Lampang when the soldier began blowing up balloons, creating a scene. Upon being asked to leave, he became aggressive, drew a BB gun, and threatened the security personnel, which resulted in a brawl. The altercation left two individuals injured, including a 23-year-old customer, Mr. Chai, who sustained a hand injury and facial bruises, while his friend was bruised while attempting to intervene.

The venue's security guards reported that prior to the incident, Mr. Chai and his friend were visiting the establishment. When the soldier brandished the gun, the staff and security were uncertain of its authenticity, prompting them to intervene and restrain him, leading to the ensuing chaos.

Reporters visiting the scene at the entertainment venue's entrance were informed by restaurant staff that the soldier, accompanied by a friend, appeared intoxicated upon arrival. He ordered beer and started blowing balloons, causing a disturbance. When a female employee requested him to step outside for a conversation, he escalated the situation by pulling out a gun. Security personnel, unable to determine if the gun was real or fake, restrained him, resulting in a scuffle. The staff confirmed they attempted to de-escalate the situation calmly to ensure other patrons' safety.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident to determine potential charges, including assault or the use of a replica weapon to intimidate.
