Bangkok: The Constitutional Court has unanimously dismissed a petition concerning the controversial "public roads for aircraft landings and takeoffs" case. This decision reflects the court's stance that the petitioner, Mr. Niyom Nopparat, had submitted a repetitive and baseless petition, accusing Anutin Charnvirakul of severe ethical violations and constitutional breaches.
According to Thai News Agency, the court's rejection was based on the assertion that Mr. Nopparat's petition lacked new substance. The petition requested the court to evaluate Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul's actions during his tenure as Minister of Interior, where he allegedly allowed a public road to be used as an aircraft landing pad for a private company, thereby violating ethical standards and constitutional sections.
The court noted that Mr. Nopparat had previously filed a similar petition, which was dismissed through Orders 90/2568 and 98/2568, issued on August 27, 2025, and September 17, 2025, respectively. These prior dismissals were based on the petition's failure to meet the criteria specified in the Constitutional Court Procedure Act B.E. 2018, specifically Sections 46 and 47 (2). Since the current petition did not present any new information compared to the original one, it was deemed unworthy of further consideration under Section 46, paragraph three. Consequently, the petition could not be filed under Section 213 of the Constitution.
