In an effort to safeguard consumer rights during this challenging time, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, serving as Chairman of the Consumer Protection Committee under the Consumer Protection Act B.E. 2522 (1979), has directed Minister Santi Piyathat, who is attached to the Prime Minister's Office, to lead the committee. According to Thai News Agency, the committee convened an urgent meeting, leveraging its authority under the Consumer Protection Act B.E. 2522 (1979) and its subsequent amendments, to devise proactive strategies aimed at consumer protection. The ongoing unrest in the Middle East has raised concerns about potential impacts on the domestic market, prompting these immediate measures.
